Dubizzle, the UAE’s leading online marketplace, has announced the appointment of Amr ElGabry as the general manager of Motors to further support its growth in the UAE.
ElGabry will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and strategy for the Motors section to drive growth of the platform’s user engagement, traffic and revenue.
ElGabry steps into the role previously occupied by Jean-Pierre Mondalek, who takes up a new role as head of Convenient Transactions to launch and lead new services such as Cash it For Me & Sell it For Me within the OLX Group network in Asia, Middle East, and Africa.
Dubizzle Motors has the largest market share in terms of traffic, users, and number of listings in the UAE. With the acquisitions of two home-grown companies this year, the platform now offers more value and choice by providing solutions for every type of used car seller through two new services - Sell it For Me and Cash it For Me further strengthening its position as a leader in the online motors marketplaces space.

ElGabry comes with over 12 years of international experience in leading online marketplaces and managing complex projects. He has launched and headed a new classifieds marketplace for OLX in Oman. Prior to joining OLX Group, he founded and successfully built a recruitment platform to improve the jobs market in the Middle East. He worked at several international companies such as Booz & Company and Procter & Gamble where he led large-scale projects in the technology sector across EMEA, focusing on commercial innovation and supply chain management. Amr holds an MBA from INSEAD and actively contributes to the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Middle East.
