CBRE, a global real estate consulting firm, has been appointed as the exclusive advisor for the UAE’s first high-rise medical mall at Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi.

The firm was selected to support with leasing and on-going retail consultancy before and during the operation of Al Falah Healthcare’s project ‘The Medical Mall.’

A first-of-its-kind in the region to specialise in medical services, the mall offers a pioneering design that will house a quality mix of service providers and retailers operating within the health and medical care industry, said a statement from CBRE.

The mall will feature up to 20 medical concepts encompassing a number of clinics, laboratories, and a dental practice and more than 40 sports and wellness retailers, including F&B (food and beverages) econcepts and family entertainment, it stated.

Covering 35,000 sq m, the mall was established in response to the substantial increase in the demand for premium medical services within the region, and will offer a complete, ‘one-stop-shop’ wellness center.

Anthony Spary, the head of investor leasing at CBRE Middle East, expressed delight at partnership with Al Falah Healthcare for the launch of The Medical Mall.

"The concept introduces a new and ‘unique selling point’ to the UAE market and we’re excited to bring various international healthcare operators to the region as well as a diverse mix of international and local retailers, with a key focus on quality, wellness, healthy food and beverage concepts, and family entertainment," remarked Spary.

“As a market trailblazer, The Medical Mall provides an integrated healthcare facility where tenants enjoy the benefit of being part of both a destination complex dedicated for clinical services and other complimentary wellness facilities. As consumer appetite for quality medical services increases in the region, we anticipate high demand for this space from reputed and renowned brand names,” he noted.

Zayed Al Falah, the chairman of Al Falah Healthcare, said: "We are very proud to introduce such a pioneering healthcare concept to the region and expect to capture the attention of both local and overseas partners in the healthcare sector."

"We are confident that our partnership with CBRE Middle East will assist us in reaching our goal to attract quality medical service providers and retailers to accommodate our vision for this mall," he stated.

CBRE’s instruction for the mall follows its recent announcement of two key appointments to its Middle East Advisory & Transaction Services team - Zeynep Sarsar joining as manager for retail agency and Jayne Higgins as a senior consultant.-TradeArabia News Service
