650 pharmaceutical firms to attend Dubai expo

More than 650 companies in the pharmaceutical industry from 75 countries around the world will participate at the upcoming 23rd edition of Dubai International Pharmaceutical and Technology Conference and Exhibition (Duphat 2018), next week in Dubai, UAE.

The event is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, and will take place from February 27 to March 1, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year, Duphat, which is one of the most important scientific events in the pharmaceutical industry in the Middle East, will occupy a total area of 18,000 sq m with and will is expecting the attendance of 27,500 visitors and participants including university professors, consultants, heads of pharmaceutical associations and specialists in the pharmaceutical industry, said a statement.

In conjunction to event, Duphat Tech, a specialised exhibition for pharma technology will be showcasing pharma technology and packaging of pharmaceutical products, dermatological products for pharmacies, and smart storage techniques and solutions in the pharmaceutical industry, it said.

Dr Ali Al Sayed, director, Department of Pharmaceutical Services, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Duphat Conference chairman, said: “Over the last two decades, our event has evolved significantly into becoming a comprehensive and distinguished global pharmaceutical conference and one of the largest events related to the pharmaceutical industry.”

“DHA has played a leading role in making Duphat, a major conference in the region and abroad. Every year, the event looks to attract professionals, researchers, academics, scientists, doctors, students and other health care professionals through its extensive scientific programme, which includes workshops and scientific sessions in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry,” he said.

“It will also highlight the latest scientific and technological developments in the pharmaceutical industry,” he added.

Moreover, participants attending Duphat this year will have the opportunity to attend exclusive workshops and highly specialised scientific sessions on various topics in the field of medicine and pharmacy while also getting the chance to learn about new latest research and smart technologies. The event will feature 26 workshops and 520 scientific poster presentations.

It is worth mentioning also that the conference this year will also witness a notable participation from GCC delegates in scientific sessions that will be presented by pharmaceutical societies and associations from Saudi, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

Dupaht is organised yearly by Index Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. – member of Index Holding, and the conference is accredited by the Ministry of Health & Prevention in the UAE, Dubai Health Authority, and The Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Australia, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
