Bahrain awards $10.8m tenders in August

Bahrain's Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry had awarded a total of 14 tenders worth BD4.13 million ($10.8 millon) in August, said a senior official.

These tenders covered mainly roads and sanitation projects, as well as those of construction and maintenance works, stated Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, the works undersecretary at the ministry.
 
The undersecretary pointed out that nine projects, worth BD3.34 million, in the roads, sanitation, construction and maintenance fields had been awarded.

Five tenders, with an estimated cost of BD782,760, related mainly to the operation of the treated wastewater network and the maintenance of the residence of the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom at the United Nations in New York.

Al Khayyat said a total of 54 purchase demands, costing BD157,976, had been approved during the same month.

The Works Ministry also received a number of rehabilitation applications from various sectors, five of which were approved and their licenses issued, while four were rejected and three canceled automatically, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
